With a name like Lenard ‘Poulter’ it was inevitable that Lenard would one day open a ‘poultry’ business. Combining his skills of art and butchering, with his love for food, he developed the unique concept of value-adding to chicken. In 1987 Lenard’s was born!

At Lenard’s, we love local. Our Franchise Stores and independent retail stockists are locally owned; our products are handmade using premium, locally sourced, naturally delicious ingredients; we use 100% Australian healthy barn-raised chickens, with no added hormones or steroids; and we are proudly Australian-owned.
From humble beginnings in 1987 in Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane, when the first ‘The Poultry Shop’ opened, to our modern Lenard’s Store design of today – you can expect good old-fashioned service and the most deliciously fresh chicken products. All stores are proudly owned locally by passionate Franchisees. Products are made with locally sourced, premium ingredients and are handmade with love by the people that serve you.
You can find our premium, handmade chicken products at hundreds of independent retailers throughout Australia. The list of stockists continues to grow every day as we expand our reach and product offering. Our range includes classic Lenard’s dishes like Kievs and Enchiladas, available pre-packed in fridges and freezers, or straight out of the deli cabinets.
