Have you thrown a chook on the barbeque this summer yet? Lenard’s delicious range of chicken products offers a refreshing alternative to the usual barbeque fare. As a leading source of protein, chicken plays an important part in the Australian diet with research showing a steady increase in consumption over the past 40 years.
According to Lenard’s Founder and Master Butcher, Lenard Poulter, chicken is often forgotten when it comes to barbequing, despite being ideally suited and a highly versatile meat:
“Chicken has so much to offer on the BBQ; great taste, good health and so many meal choices. People get stuck on red meat on for the BBQ, and only use Chicken when they are ‘going gourmet’. But there are so many easy and delicious every day options.”
Take the opportunity this summer to expand your BBQ repertoire with chicken, your family and friends will love you for it! Lenard’s offers a diverse range of fresh chicken meal options, many pre-prepared so all you need do is cook and serve; Kebabs, Shashlicks, tender gold Seasoned Breast, Marinated Wings, Chicken Sausages, Patties, and much more. Cooking guides are available in all Lenard’s stores so that you can cook your Lenard’s products to perfection, every time.
For a limited time, Lenard’s product range includes; Mango & Mild Chilli Chicken Sausages, Mango Kebabs or Chicken Spring Rolls with Mango & Sweet Chilli for a seasonal-taste sensation!
If chicken breast fillets are your choice, you will find Lenard’s prices are cost-competitive with your local supermarket. Try Lenard’s tender gold breast fillets – marinated in a light dressing that includes turmeric, the result is mouth-watering and incredibly tender, and the kids will love it too.
Lenard Poulter’s Tips for perfectly cooked barbeque chicken breast fillets
1. Butterfly chicken breast fillets by slicing the fillet at the rounded edge of the breast and folding outwards - this allows quicker cooking time.
2. Pre-heat barbeque for about 30 minutes until very hot.
3. Cook butterfly chicken for 4 minutes on each side – this will differ according to size of chicken breast.
4. Serve chicken straight from the barbeque while tender.
